My entry for this will be the 1/35th MRC AH-1W Whiskey Cobra from MRC which is a great kit with the worst instruction sheet, ever. It will be my Sandbox Entry and I also build an Operation Enduring Freedom subject every Fall to remember 9/11 so the purpose of the build will be two- fold. I will be using the Verlinden Resin cockpit which is really nice and Two Bobs Decals. The Whiskey I will be building is an OEF bird from Afghanistan from USMC squadron HML/A-269, call sign "Gunrunner". This one carried special noseart forward of the windscreen of a female angel and the quote, "Easy on the Eyes, Hard on the Soul." Two Bobs printed a special silk screen decal piece for this which lays down over a white backing piece. Looks very straightforward so we shall see. Regards, Ian

I made some progress on the Whiskey Cobra and started work on the Verlinden Resin Cockpit set. This is probably one of the nicest resin sets I have ever dealt with and no trimming or sanding was required for fit. The cockpit was primed with Tamiya Primer and then painted with AK NATO Black. The instruments were handpainted with Vallejo Winter White and the faces drawn in with a Micron Ink Pen. The seats were painted with Mission Models OD and then the belts were painted with AK Aircraft Grey. They were then given a wash of Pledge Floor Wax diluted with Acryl Black. The tub fit perfectly in the fuselage and a test fit of the halves didn't reveal any fit problems. I will work on the gunsight next. Regards, Ian
