Thanks John and I even got to use my technical drawing circle template for masking of the rubber rim of the wheels. I’m now working on getting some pigments on the lower hull and tracks so they can all bit fitted before adding the side skirts/fenders.

Finally made some more progress. I still need to weather the wheels but I’m going to do that as part of the overall finishing process. So now I can get all the other parts built and hopefully ready for primer in a couple of days.

Thanks Pete, and in my quest to actually have some figures I’m trying to find out what the wire configuration was for the headsets/mic. I’ve also annoying realised I might have to work out how to get a figure behind the open driver’s hatch. Oh and cap badges!

To show I’m not completely slacking for this GB, most of the details added (the wing mirror will be last otherwise it’s going end up be knocked off) and some wiring in place for the lights and horn. I’ve also primed and started painting the tools so getting there.

A bit of an annoyance trying to get the wiring in place. I used medium solder wire for the headlights, drilled the holes, CA’ed them in the back of the holes of the headlights and that’s when the horror started. The wire is thick enough to give some resistance and in this case enough to end up breaking the struts for the headlights. In my expert judgement I decided the best way forward was to do exactly the same on the other headlight. I’ve now replaced the solder wire with the smallest and although it’s not as thick as I’d wanted it’ll have to do.
I’m going to leave the build for a day or so as I don’t want this little hiccup to make it a shelf queen.

Looks good mate, bugger about the wiring though. I've found fly fishing lead wire is perfect for this sort of thing as it comes in various gauges and is more flexible than solder wire.

I'll give that a look when the shops are open again but I have put the wiring in-place now and I'm still not happy with it. I think it's one of those, you have an idea of what you want to achieve and it's frustrating when you don't get that. The good thing is once it's all under a coat of primer I'll end up forgetting all about it.

Wing mirrors - how many times have I been on hands and knees going through the carpet looking for something I’ve just knocked off.
Doing wiring is something I’ve never thought possible. Good luck with it.

Saying that’s the build complete (the tools and exhaust and being painted separately) so once every is dry I can mask off the running gear and get the old faithful Halfords grey out. I very enjoyable build with only one of the sand skirts needed a bit of persuasion to get it in place.
