Thank you friends. I decided to build the "326" Panther (PzRgt 12, La Villeneuve, Normandy, June '44. There's only one photo known of this particular tank as a reference but it's unsharp and the tank sits in the background. I based myself on other photos of Normandy style Panther camouflage patterns and I think it looks ok. I sprayed on brown and green lines and after drying I applied Gloss Clear. Decals were put on and sealed. The first wash is on, raw umber thinned down with mineral spirit. More soon.

Steve, thanks. I used only one colour, raw umber thinned down with white spirit. A lot more washes and filters will be added before it will look the way I want. It deepened the yellow and it accentuated the surface details a bit. It's not a pin wash, that's for tomorrow. Filters will alter the different panels. Ian, I'll let you know tomorrow mate. Thanks Pete. Glad you like it so far Paul. Boots, the Sol did its job, the decals softened quickly. I found little history on this 326 : The tank was active during the battle for Norrey in Normandy after D-Day. Its SS commander was named Uscha Eismann and he was cut into due to the impact of an antitank projectile, most likely a PIAT. The gunner, Gerd Krieger, cleaned the cupola with his own shirt as it was a big mess. After that he asked his superiors to give him a new shirt but he was then told to clean it with water and move on. This is the tank after the battle and the guy next to the conning tower (Gerd Krieger) is mopping up the blood of his commander. ONLY for reference purposes.

Thats an interesting little story behind this tank fella.............dunno about being given a new shirt....a ferkin` medal would have been more appropriate after cleaning up that mess

Hi guys, I'm slowly working to the yellow colour tones I have in mind. I'd be lost without my good ol' oil paints.

Thanks a lot brothas ! I didn't have enough benchtime to move on a lot with the paintwork. I brushed on yellow highlights and a yellow ocre filter was applied onto some of the green camo stripes to subtly create warm and colder greens. I'll slap on much more paint the coming days. Best regards ! AG.
