So I’ve started on the figures for the next diorama- field mechanics in 1/48. I primed them with Mr surfacer 1000 and they became a joy to paint. The paint went on a lot more smoothly. This time I started with Vallejo brown rose as the under coat and have started to lighten with rose salmon and basic skin tone. Thanks to the surfacer there is a lot more surface detail visible than in my previous builds.  As a start, I am very pleased, so far. I’ll have 5 guys in the diorama working on the armoured car. |

Got the uniforms painted up and a coat of Mr Hobby Matt varnish to protect the base colours which I am satisfied with. Now I can use the good old Tamiya panel line black to add in shading, then a bit of detailing and dry brushing on the uniforms and they should be ready.  |

Thanks Paul but not yet. Made some lighter colour with buff for the turned up sleeves (though you can’t see it on this pic) and dry brushing the knees. Done his buttons too. God, had so much free time today!!!!!!  |
