How did it come to this? I read Brazen Chariots. And the star of the show is the Honey. Incidentally, Robert Crisp claims his driver christened the tank the Honey. After reading the book I wanted to know what the M3 Stuart looked like, since the cover has nothing to do with the book, so searched on the internet and came across Andy’s hobby headquarters build video. I then watched him build and weather a Matilda and was blown away (as they say), so I bought myself a T34 in 1/48 to play around with. And the rest, as they also say, is history.

So onto the tracks. Having a go at the individual links but they keep falling apart so making them into link and length pieces, shaping them as I go along. Anybody know of any other way?

I hate these type of tracks that you have to assemble, seems the model companies have some kind of sadistic pleasure in offering these in their kits......it puts me off buying Meng,Takom, RFM kits etc coz these type of tracks are always included!!! The Takom Bergepanzer i have for the `Recovery` GB has indie links, indie guide horns in plastic and indie end caps in rubber ...unless i spend £30 plus for Fruils i`m thinking of shelving it.....it doesn`t come with any form of jig and if i go for AM ones ...... they are Meng......they`re even worse coz you have to make each link (5 pieces)before you can join it to another link.

Tommy when I built this kit, I built the whole run in one go. If you use very small amounts of glue they will stay workable, and will not fall apart. You will need to very patient with them, too little glue and they will not hold, too much and they don't bend.

I'd use the method Paul has used too. Also a slow setting glue would also probably be of benefit as it would give you a bit more working time. Boots old chap I feel your pain with the tracks some meng & takom kits have which is why I usually factor fruil replacements into any build with tracks like that. I can knock out fruils in a day and they are much better detailed as well with less clean up.

Looking forward to it, Tommy. Like your background information on the build as well.

The tracks are done. Now to relax with a drop of port, some mimolette and a bit of PE work on some ammo boxes
I’ve also been working on the interior, that may never be seen again.
