Okay dudes, experimental time . The tools of choice are these: The challenge. Try to get an overflow from burnt out to very hot metal, and some different stages of burntness on the interior. For the hot, not burnt out metal, I have used the blue, black and deep red oils. These i have tried to blend to get that over heated metal look, unfortunately the pics don't really show this effect. I'll try again tomorrow with some closer pictures. The pigments have been used to get different ash effects on the inside, the Abt. 502 pigs white ash and grey ash were mixed to give the ashes under the seats . Chaps all comments and critique are very welcome here, this is the first time I have tried this and any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah ditto that and the gradual degrees of colour change and speckling just blows you away.

Marco, Joe, Ian, Tommy, Si, Wouts, your words are very much appreciated chaps . This certainly isn't as easy as I thought it would be, in fact I'm learning a lot this time round. Next time I shall defo do a few things differently . Today's fun was some more pigments on the interior, fun with the gun, and a first time for me salt chipping on the stowage . I must that that salt chipping is a good idea, but use an enamel based primer otherwise it can eat its way through to the resin . As always ACACW

It's the small attention to detail, like with the cans that makes this build look so good.

This is looking extremely real, the seats or what's left of them in particular look mighty superbly executed. This is one of your best Paul, I'm sure.

Chaps you are making blush with the praise you give . Had to go to work today, bollards I hate that place, but it pays the bills and gives me pocket money. So after I got back, I sorted the rear seating, well what's left of them. I made these from coffee stirrers which I cut into thin strips, then glued them with a brace underneath. The first one, which got binned, I tried to heat up. But coffee stirrers burn very fast and you end up with nothing. The next two sets I treated differently, I shredded the burnt ends with a sharp blade to get the "shredded/frayed" look. These were then stained with Mig Productions dark wash 220. After this was dry, I sanded it back to partially show the natural wood again. Then it was back to the pigments, black and my ash grey mix. I'm working on the bits and bobs to scatter around the rear now, should have more show tomorrow

Evening Paul, Gotta say your tackling the burnt out look superbly. Building up the effect works well and it’s getting better with each step B)
