Right then after having a slight setback with this, which sent me to start another build, I decided to get in there and sort the bugger out. Whilst handling the model last weekend, I managed to snap the windscreen armour down the middle . I thought I might be able to get away with leaving it snapped, but when I tried the roof for fit I discovered that the side walls had sprung slightly outwards . This meant the roof didn't fit anymore. So the only thing to do was get the screen back together, this needed a small piece of rod on the inside so that it had something to hold onto. Then I added some putty (proper putty from Humbrol) to the outside to try and cover the break, so far so good. This then led to remaking the roof as the old one still didn't fit. Anyway, after all that I sprayed some primer on the lot today, it looks okay now, I think... if look closely you can still the break point, but hey I can live with that ... I reckon . Now the primer is on I can also see that the welds need beefing up a tad, they are just too fine at the mo. The engine covers are also in place in airing mode, you can still see the engine if you get in close . With the roof on to help stop anything breaking apart again, it is going to make painting and weathering the burnt out inside a tad trickier, but I reckon I still have enough room through the side doors, windscreen and rear to sort that out. Sorry about the picture quality, this black primer just sucks up all the lighting

Brilliant save Paul! I for one would have thought the explosive force of the shell in the interior would have made the walls bulge anyway, so maybe that was a fortuitous accident. Like the rest though, I don't see where the break was. Brilliantly done man!

Cheers chaps . Duke an HE shell just explodes on impact, so a lot of the energy is thrown around and not concentrated. A different matter is a HESH round (high explosive squash head), these hit the target and compress themselves onto the surface and explode in one direction, inwards. This sends shock waves through the armour causing large scabs to be thrown off on the inside, which in turn wizz around the vehicle doing all sorts of damage . Not a good day out being shot at with a HESH . Paul, I reckon that would be something for Pete I beefed the welds today, and yes, I went back over the slightly visible crack
