Comments have been made regarding the size of this "beast" therfore a little comparison. The Hawker Hunter is the same scale (1\48) but looks very small alongside the Wyvern. This plane was about the same weight as a DC-3 and was, power wise, twice the power of a P-47 Thunderbolt. Tim

Tim, the Wyvern looks awesome and glad you brought this one back from a potential trip to the refuse heap! I knew it was salvageable. And yes, the size of the Wyvern is unreal. Mine is sitting next to a Spitfire on the shelf and just dwarfs it.

Small update as this starts to come together. Wheels on, wings on, prop decals on and next task a coat of "Klear" and then the gouache to bring out the panel lines etc.
Hopefully get a bit more done over the weekend, more soon. Tim

All caught up now and I have to say that it’s looking great fella I was amazed at how big the thing was when I saw one in a museum somewhere but I don’t remember where it was , maybe Yeovilton?

Thanks for looking in and the comments. As the title suggests, decals going on. For such a large thing there are not many of them, but they do bring another splash of colour and start to pull it together.

Beautiful model, Tim. Looks great with stripes and roundels and I bet you are happy you saved this one now. Still amazed at the size of these planes. A single-engine fighter almost the size of a Mosquito or A-20 Havoc.
