Hi All, Thanks for your positive feedback. I've been enjoying the painting and weathering and it's cranked the mojo back up. As I'd been so busy with everything un-modelling related, the lack of progress had been a bit of a handbrake to getting going again.
Cheers
Mark

We will all still be here, soaked in resin dust and Single Malt.

Evening / Morning All Not a huge amount of progress, due to work and getting up at crazy O'Clock to watch England put Germany to the sword, but SWMBO was out for a couple of hours one night this week so I snuck into my workroom. I have started on the chipping process, focusing on the wheels first. First step was mixing a light version of the base yellow colour and with a small bit of packaging foam in tweezers start the sponge chipping process. That was followed with a mix of steel grey and the eye crossing job of infilling some of the larger chips with my 000 brush. That's as far as I got. Next step will be adding a focused enamel rust wash around the steel chips. Just a short update tonight so here's the pics.

Evening / morning all Just a quick update before i head off to bed. Not a lot of time to work on the Tiger today, as there was a list of garden jobs to knock out. Anyway I did manage to finish the wheels by adding enamel rust to the steel chip spots. Next up was a technique I've seen done on many a you tube video, but never tried.....Oil dot filters. I'm always a bit nervous when you've put in so much work to that point, but i bit the bullet and gave it a go. It freaks you out to start as it looks like a mess of oil paint, but persevere and it produces a very subtle effect that really ages the camo scheme, but best of all it softens the colour transitions. It's currently drying over night, so I'll post some finised pics tomorrow. In the meantime here's some taken WIP. Last up I did a little more weathering work ont he spare track set that sits at the front of the Tiger. I used some enamel rust and had a play with some AK weathering pencils. Here's progress so far. Well, that's enough for now. Got to get to bed so I can be up for the footy in the morning. Cheers Mark

You're doing a cracking job on this Tiger Mark . I thought exactly the same thing when I first used oils, boy did it scare me . Can't do without them now though

Oil shading is a scary thing but can pay off nicely so I’m looking forward to seeing the results fella

Evening All Forgot to mention yesterday that the oil dot filter was done with Abteilung 502 paints and the VMS oil expert medium. With the oil medium you get a great flat finish. Hard to pic up well in the pictures, but it has a really warm colour and the sublety of the filter has really enhanced the camo and at the same time softened the transitions. Here's some pics post filter. This evening I also snuck a coule of hours in to make a start on the chipping for the tank body and the turret. Happy with progress so far, pics to follow. Cheers All Mark

Good work on the oils. I have started to use that trick too, but nothing to worry about so long as you have a good semi gloss or gloss coat on the painted surface. Anything you don’t like can be cleanly and easily removed.
By the way, most of us use panzerabteilung too.
