With the Wyvern on the back boiler until the new kit arrives, I thought I had best jump back on the bike so to speak, and break this one out. Majority of steps 1 to 6 completed so far. Upper deck only dry fitted but I think it indicates how good the fit is with this kit. Time for a beer and then possibly some more rugby. Tim

Old speckled hen. Now that brings back memories.
My favorite in the UK was Theakstons Old Peculiar.

I wished I liked beer but the only thing I drink is Guinness but to keep it on topic. What’s the bar armour like as I like the look of the kit but was unsure whether I’d be happy without using the PE set?

There you go Jab's, In my opinion they are fine. Sure the etch replacements might be more to scale, but the build process presents it's own problems. Tim

Thanks Tim as it’s good to get the opinion of someone who’s seen them in the flesh. As for the PE, it scares the hell out of me to be honest and I think the chances of me getting that right are about the same as Kylie Minogue asking me out on a date. I’m pretty sure I’d enjoy the latter somewhat more as well.

They have a "pasturised" non fizz bottled version now and I must say I am quite partial to it.

Back to the Challenger. The individual link tracks are, in my opinion, the best I have come across so far. Yes, clean and file etc and be carefull with the TET, but you are rewarded with some nicely detailed workable tracks. Might be famous last words but ever the optimist Tim

They are indeed some fine tracks, as for the bar armour I think it's perfectly suitable. No need for horrible PE in my humble opinion.

Tim those tracks look very nice. I agree with Pete; I think that kit slat armor will be just fine.

Definately agree that injection moulded bar stuff is perfectly adequate. Nice start on the trackage too
