Hi chaps, I need a break from the BTR, as it got a bit annoying today . So I thought something not so serious would help me along a tad . Here's the Panther II with a proposed turret from Rheinmetall. I'm going out of the box with this one , except for maybe a new barrel and stereoscopic sights on the turret. It will also get a realistic paint job, not one of those weird coloured things you see so many of today. I figure that if the Germans had built this in '45/'46, then there would have been enough paint supplies around to give them a paint scheme fitting for that time frame too. Anyway, off we go Working sussies and rear wall in place . I can't understand why we need these working torsion bar suspensions, once the tracks go on it over More soon dudes

Boots, yes mucker. Whilst handling the thing today the windscreen broke down the middle . Anyway, this is under way and till now looks good as a distraction Pete it was the turrets shape that made me buy this one, cheers ole chap John, this certainly isn't too a too bad a kit, there is a little flash to clear up but nothing serious Here's a tad more on the rear end

We all need a distraction and an ‘out of box’ build every now and then seems to fit the bill....I like your choice too Just started a distraction build myself of a Takom Blitz Pz III

You're right there Si, and thanks also fella . Is that Pz.III the Ausf.M? If yes, I have that also, but I am a tad worried about building it, I had some bad issues with their Jagdtiger from the same the same range .

From reading around it seems that they somewhat dropped the ball on the first version but did at least correct it in the later moulds. You do still have to wonder how they even managed to ship the first version though.

Yeah it’s the Ausf M kit. I watched it being built on YouTube and the chap didn’t mention any issues, so fingers crossed 🤞

Joe you be welcome fella . Did a little more today, the upper hull is only dry fit, but the turret is glued together and the tool holders are stuck in place and the hatches closed. I was going to keep this OOB, but the turret rear hatch was a defo not option . It looks like a weird emoji instead of a hatch . Also the tools are a load of shyte, the MG's also. So they will swapped for some Dragon items I have. Oh yes, the hatch also came from some Dragon Panther leftovers. The main gun is a one piece part with a separate muzzle brake, but it had an aweful seem down the length. I was worried about it at first, but a spin in the drill with coarse sanding paper sorted that out. Anyway, here's the pics

Cheers Joe . It's nice to do a simple kit now and again, specially when you have the freedom of a paper panzer
