Any suggestions for the periscopes? I was thinking of painting the lenses in a clear colour; blue or yellow or something.

You should be prrtty safe with clear blue Tommy . She's looking grandnow ole chap, waiting to see the dirty job done on the isnside (sounds trerrible I know  ) |

Looks great Tommy! Blue or Green are good options to the periscopes.

This looks fantastic, Tommy. Like Paul and Marco said; clear blue or green for the glass and maybe a drop of Tamiya Smoke on top of that to darken them up if you needed to tone down the color.
