Right I'll tell you what has happened. I gave it a flat coat and the Vallejo was very good probably the best I've ever used, tick Gave it a dusting of flat earth through the AB, tick Took the mask off the glazing, cross, the glazing was so flimsy it pulled it out of the cab exposing the grey interior where I forgot to paint it. You can't see the grey with the naked but you can with a flash photo, you've got to believe me. OK it looks shit with no glazing. I will cable up the lifting gear just to finish it of then it's going in the bin as a learning curve. I'll show you when the cables are on

Bugger about the glazing Ian. Maybe you should try the VMS liquid mask, it isn't (by the sound of things) as sticky as Vallejo . Even so, she is looking good

Paul the glazing was the weakest part of this kit. It was one piece of very thin glazing marked out where you should cut it out, it only just fitted in place once cut.
Had to hold it in place and touch it with TET to try and fix it. I think if it had been normal glazing it would of stood up up to the mask coming off. Those with this kit in the stash will see the glazing, it really is not great.
Thanks Paul for your encouragement

Sounds familiar Ian, that rubbish Italeri put the Blitz was even worse. The contact areas hardly existent and the material tells glue to go away . As for encouragement.... well that and taking the pee is what do best here mucker

Well I hate to see that going into the bin after all this hard fine work. Yeah, having built this, I agree that the glazing was the weakest part of the model, but that's why I left it off until the very last. After all was painted and detailed, I added the window glazing. If I knew it were possible, I'd ask you to send that to me as I'd love to have that in the collection.

Sorry to hear that, Robbo. 99% Rule rears it's ugly head. That last 1% of the build can really bite.

Sorry to hear it, Robbo. Very nearly over the line.
Could you not have a smashed in window?

I'll cable it up, stick it in a box in the loft with the others, no one will ever see it

Robbo, not sure of the window dimensions but can Kristal Klear be used to fill the windows? KK will work up to about a 1/4 inch aperture. Using it on the Nimrod to replace all of Airfix' atrocious side portholes and windows on the fuselage.

That’s a real shame about the glazing Robbo, it’s a right kick in the proverbial when something like this happens at the end of a build. How about using a tissue tarp and covering the cab and put the whole thing on a trailer at some point in the future? It’s too good to hide away buddy
