Thanks for moving this to the diorama section!
Figures to paint; vehicles to paint; dio to paint; trees, stones, sand, dust, leaves to be added, oldest daughter to become mother (first time) in first week of may; decided to go camping two weekends in april, two weekends in may, which takes up a lot of time so when will I be able to work on dio.. what have I gotten myself into?

Bert, fantastic work on this. Nice stowage additions on the LAVs as well. It is a huge undertaking but just take it in small steps and the dio will come together in time.

Thanks all.
I had painted the figures in Tamiya sand, added two tone brown camo (Earth and RedBrown), and then green (Khaki)... didn't like the total combination, so soaked them in airbrush cleaner and stripped the paint of of them. Start again. I want to do a choolate chip camouflage uniform, found some nice pictures on the web for it. Just not sure wich colors to use, I am using tamiya, now choosen XF57 Bufff, XF 64 Red Brown, XF 6 Nato Brown, XF 49 Khaki, and XF1 Black and XF2 White. Any thoughts/suggestions on different/better combination?

I'd say the tamiya colours are a reasonable match but I would swap to say vallejo colours for ease of painting as tamiya colours can be a pain to hand paint especially on figures. Similar shades from vallejo would work well.

Similar shades from vallejo would work well. Thanks for the advice, I will use this combination, see how that looks on the figures. And for some reason i have more problems with Vallejo than Tamiya, which is why I use Tamiya. Same with AK, don't really like them either for handpainting.

I suppose it's what you do with the Tamiya paint. I always add a drop Tammy gloss and plenty of thinner, they work good with a brush then. As for AK .... well no comment on that

Well, deleted the colors again... replaced khaki by XF76, because I wanted the green to be more faint than the khaki. still have to do some work on faces, do the white spots with black outlines.. been testing that..
