Looks great! Here in Brazil, we call those patrol Beetles "Joaninha" (ladybug) or "Rádio Patrulha"

Got the wheel arches done. VMS sand pigment, then MiG rust effect. Then wet blended oil paints, black, burnt umber, earth and light earth. Most of the bits and bobs are done so should get this finished by the end of the week. Only problem is, a bit of flash that I cut off the main body and slung, has turned out to be the rear lamp for the number plate. Will see how I can work around it.

I’m sure you’ll be able to fix the lamp fella We would never have known if you hadn’t told us

Thanks Steve. A bit of sprue, cut it, trimmed it and I think I am safe. Using thinned down black oil paint for all the edges. Should be able to clean off and just leave a thin black line.

Thanks PorcoRosso. Very nearly over the line. The problem with the black, was couldn’t clean it off so well so going to go quite weathered. Well it is Antwerp, so a fair bit of rust caused by the North Sea winds.

I think the weathering will make it look more realistic, too clean finished car kits mostly look like toys to my eye

Now that is bizar, oilpaint that can't be wiped off? How long did you wait before trying Tommy?

Finished. I’d like to say this is how i planned it to be, but it isn’t. anyway, I really enjoyed doing all the rust effects and got carried away. More in my gallery.
