What? You don’t have millions? Sadly.....no Duke...lol, well, you got the train part right...sadly not in Poland and neither a treasure Thanks Guyke ^^ With the 109 out of the way I got only the Panther at the bench currently (we'll need to change that ). So that means we can work on that one a tad more. And guess what...There's an update I spent my time on giving the turret spaced armour their colourcoats. I already basecoated the parts in dark brown. And after that I stippled various rust colours (the great rust set from Lifecolour) with a spongue on the surface. I also added some Vallejo Pale Grey Blue here and there. And after that I masked an L shape and stippled the lightest rust colour on top. This gives you a sharp demarcation, simulating another metal plate which was placed on top which oxidised on the edges before the plates were cut as extra armour. After that I basecoated all the external parts like track links, sand bags and the spaced armour plate. Those were already glued in place and this scared me a bit. But it turned out ok. The sandbags are already highlighted and outlined, and shadows were painted in as well. The spare track links need to get some rusty treatment and the spaced armour plate is already treated with a first round of spongue dipping, but not yet finished. I still need to paint the engine cover and after that we can continue weathering.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm pleased with the metal effect. The L shape isn't my idea btw, think Adam Wilder did it many moons before me. Yet, better a good idea borrowed than coming up with a bad idea myself eh

I forgot to say thanks last time, so thanks for the comments chaps. Since then, a lot has been done to the Panther, but in between that time and now I had to build me a new pc because the old one had died on me. All programs have been installed and I finally managed to upload and edit the photos. Pfoe. The engine hatch cover still had to be painted and chipped, so that's what I did. I decided to give the engine hatch a different colour in contrast to the engine deck cover, which in turn had a different colour than the rest of the Panther. To keep things a bit exciting I guess. The exhaust stacks were chipped and rusted. The paint chips got enhanced but adding small applications of rust enamel colour. These were blended in. The result is much more vibrant. The same was done with the additional front armour plate as well. The shell impacts received a basecoat of dark grey. That's all folks!

Tommy, thanks chap, and more to come indeed ^^ Thanks Bootsey. And yeah, pc fully up and running...well actually since end of October but it took me some time again to get the right proggies installed. Got a more recent version of PS Elements now, and Lightroom is finally there too, whehey, can't live with crappy photos LOL Ian, Paul and Pete, thanks a lot guys, you're too kind Guy, thanks bud, hope you're jaw didn't hurt too much afterwards Marco, thanks for the great comment mate, obrigado ^^ Well then, time to do an update then. The spare tracks needed to be do weathered and rusted. First I basecoated in a very dark grey colour, and then while still wet I blended in some very thin light grey paint in some areas. When this dries it already creates a nice base. Then, two types of rust enamel wash were applied: a lighter one and a slightly darker one. These were applied wet on wet. When dry it already looks good. Still need to add some rust speckles though. The spare wheel on the turret received some rust washes as well. Though I don't like the result just yet, needs to be weather some more. Meanwhile I decided to tackle the tracks. These were assembled 10 years ago so quite the timesaver. I decided to weather them with blackening agent. In the past I followed instructions by first degreasing the tracks, then putting them in a plastic container with the blackening agent for about 10 minutes, and then rinse the tracks. This had great results but it's not really economic. The same result can be achieved by dipping an old tootbrush in the blackening liquid and rubbing it in. Use some gloves and eye protection though! After that, in stead of rinsing the product off, I let the tracks just dry. And the tracks look as good as you would have followed the instructions. But even better, you use far less product, so the bottle lasts a lot longer. I forgot to clean/degrease the tracks before application, so some parts are much darker and some areas less. In my mind that adds to the interests, and besides it's just a base. Some muddy stuff will cover most anyway. End of this episode ^^
