Seat looks great, Paul! I have to sort out if mine was ESCAPAC or SJU-8 since the A-7s on those Microscale sheets were all around the transition time for the bang seat switch.

Thanks Ian . I am really glad I got that reference book for the Greek A7, this clearly shows the SJU-8 seat being in use for the Greek version. Joe, that is a scotch I have never heard of. Might have to look that one up

Might have to look that one up Yes, you are all set with the SJU-8 for Greek Corsairs. I did some rummaging around for USN A-7 info and mine will have the ESCAPAC for the early 80's. And just remembered I have a resin ESCAPAC seat left over from the TA-4J build.

Joe how does this one taste? I'd say a tad to the sweet side from the muscat grape touch of the cask?

I came here to look at the builds but was distracted by the Scotch and ended up ordering a bottle of Dalmore!

Okay, the good news is, the bang seat is finished . I don't know if these had different styles of harness from one owner to another, but the Eduard and the Aires PE didn't match up to the pics in the book. So I chopped up the Eduard stuff, to get it at least close to what I could see in the book . After finishing the seat, I set about looking at the fit of the fuselage. I wasn't expecting anything perfect and it is a tad rough here and there. Anyway I then wanted to see how the canopy fitted...... What canopy?? I've said this before, if there is a dud kit on the market then believe me, I'll get it . The clear parts are non-existent in my kit . Anyway, an e-mail is out to Italeri and I hope they'll answer up soon. I have ordered extra parts from them before, and I know it can take 4 weeks before anything arrives. I can't wait that long, wouldn't be fair on Ian . So to continue in this duel, I have tracked down a Revell kit that fits the game. In fact, it is a rebox of Ians choice. Thursday I will continue this adventure, till then I shall just drink scotch .

Very nice seat Paul, it’ll look great in the ‘pit In fairness you’ll enjoy the Revel/Hasegawa kit more but it’s a right pain when you get a dud kit. I hope Italeri respond more professionally than Airfix did with me. Can you believe they’ve still not answered my question about purchasing parts ? Good job I’ve binned the kit!

Cheers Steve . As I said, I have purchased kits parts from Italeri before and they are very good in this respect. They are just as good with missing/broken parts too, something some manufacturers should take note of .

Paul, what a fantastic job on the bang seat! The Hasegawa/Revell offering will probably be a better go for you. I have the Revell boxing of the Hasegawa kit and actually stole the cockpit decal placards off that sheet to use on my Hasegawa build. Will have a seat/cockpit update soon.
