Hello guys, I'm sure I'll never finish this group build project before its deadline, however I'm motivated to give it a try. Georg Bose was a highly decorated Lieutnant in the Sturmgeschutz-Abteilung 177 which was active in several conflicts in the East.
It will be built straight from the box as I'm on a vacation at the moment.
Paul, it's been a long time since I did a whitewash project, do not expect too much of my attempts my neighbour. Joe, thank you fella, now I can start building in a stressless way. Tommy, here's the box art, but mine is not the vip exclusive kit..
I have faith in you Guy . That kit is a good one, just the instructions may be a tad strange in places .
Paul I'm holding my breath for the instruction manual. I did some research and I found out that other modellers found out that a couple of parts should be left away or that some scratched parts are to be made to get a moreless accurate Georg Bose Stug. For example, a deflector for the commander's cupola was built and added in the field.
Alterations Georg Bose as far as I found info on it :
-extra 30mm (0,8mm) armor front panel, -no exhaust cover, -blue tube tail light, -field modification deflector cupola, -no smoke dischargers, -1 S hook at left and 1 at right of the vehicle, -grab handles on the hatches, -...?
Dragon has got me ferked already. The (still to be added) extra frontal armor panel will cause replacing of the eyes on the left and right side. Removing and repositioning the eye panels is impossible without damaging other parts but I have a solution and it will be done when I get home as I didn't take my white styrene with me. I forgot my cyano glue also, typical )
Thank you for jumping by guys. Pete, it would have been better to just pick a random Stug III kit instead of such a specific one. Dragon claims this is a Georg Bose Stug but it's miles from being that and it's just mojo killing. The past days I was so lucky to have Paul to help me a hand. He found more useful info on the subject and even a photo of Georg Bose's Stug with you never guess what...tracks as extra armor. Of course the Dragon version hasn't got them. End of rant. Wouter, I'll try to unfold this as good as I can. Marco, thanks brotha.
