I am wondering if a Spey version is in the works? It is designed with separate intakes and a separate under belly section so the Rolls Royce pieces could theoretically drop right in. It would be great if that happens but I think the whole rear fuse is a different shape Ian, it lost the area ruled displacement as the Spey was a shorter but fatter jet. In addition to the changes you mentioned the airframe was 6” wider and a bit deeper, plus it needed auxiliary intakes in the rear body. The UK Phantom was better at low level acceleration and had a higher low altitude speed but was much slower at normal heights and used more fuel due to the increase in drag caused by the new body shape. Do you think they can squeeze an ‘E’ out of it? There’s few changes in that variant Looking at your work and comments though you’ve sold me on the kit.., Xmas list #1 B)

Readily adaptable for an N-Model and I am sure new wings, cockpit and cans are in the works for a USAF C/D and USN J/S.

Hello gentlemen, Sorry for my lack of progress with my build. Just as well Ian made great a start. Well done Ian. Your much more knowledgeable about the Phantom than I am. Your right about the quality of this kit. It's an absolute stunner! The detail looks very good indeed. I'm hoping to get underway over the weekend. But in the meantime, here's a few photos to show what a great kit this is. The decals look very good. They appear to be thinner than the previous decals that came with a Tamiya kit. I've found the canopy masks to fit nicely in the past when I've used them. I'm sure these will be just as good.
