Thanking you kindly, Paul and, Pete. I painted the Blown flaps white. When the paint is dry, I can mask them off so I can paint the red sections. In the meantime, I can polish the fuselage ready for bringing out the panel lines with gouache.

Thanking you muchly, Tommy , Boots, and, Pete. I dried fitted a few of the main assemblies together just to see how it all looked. I had trouble dry fitting the intakes. There was a small gap between the intake, and the wing. As Victor Meldrew would have said, I don't believe it! After spending all afternoon trying to work out why it didn't fit. I finally noticed, the tiny lug on the edge of the intake, was not a lug, but a small part I hadn't trimmed off properly from the sprue gate!
After I trimmed it correctly, the intakes fitted perfectly.

Thank you Pete. Being a new Tamiya kit, I knew the problem was down to me. It just took me so long to find out what it was. I made a start with the gouache to bring out the panel lines. I used a grey which gives a very subtle change. It doesn't show up much in the photos, but I'm happy with it. I cleaned off the excess before it had dried properly, as I've pulled some out of the panel lines. I should have left it longer. I normally use kitchen roll, but I noticed on the coffee table, my wife's make up removal cotton wool pads. These were most excellent for removing the excess gouache. I shall use a black on other areas and panels and see how that works out. Before. After. Port side with gouache applied.
