Lovely work Mark.......are you going with gun on crucifix or mounted on limber At this stage my thoughts are having it in a firing position mounted on the bogies. I have some resin figures which are set in firing poses. I have an idea for a dio based on that, i'm thinking last ditch Berlin urban defence.

I managed to get a bit more time in the model room today, as I was smoking some beef short ribs and I had to be near by (well that's what i told SWMBO) Mind you, I just about gave up at one point. I was having a problem with the photo etch on one of the bins. Could i get the little mofo's to stick. When I did they kept breaking off. The number of times I had to resand and re-stick it was lucky it didn't get thrown across the room. So it was up for a break and time to unwind. Thankfully I overcame the hurdle and the second bogie was completed. Then i had a little time left, to cut out the PE for the gun shield. It's about 1/3 of the thickness of the kit part, with quite a bit of PE hinges and fixing points. I will make it up and paint it separtely before attaching to the gun body. Cheers Mark

Hello All Made a little bit of progress today finishing off each component and treating the PE parts. Then it was on to the priming with my go to Alclad black microfiller primer. It produces a lovely super flat matt finish. It will dry overnight and then it's on with the base coat. Cheers Mark

Evening / Morning All I've managed to get a bit of work done today inbetween outdoor chores. The first job was to get a basecoat of Tamiya German Grey down on the key components. I like to thin with the Tamiya laquer to start as it gives a nice solid base to build and weather on. The next colours were German Field Grey on the ammo cases and Rubber Black on the tyres. Finally a switch out to some Vallejo metallic Steel for the tools. Once that had dried, I moved on to some modulation. First up I mixed the base German Grey with some Buff to lighten it a shade. Then it was added to the bogies, the gun perdestal, the gun and the shield. This was followed by a little more Buff to create a highlight for the key areas. Lastly I added a little bit of Rubber Black and Flat Black to the German Grey to add a bit of shadowing in. The highlights look a little in your face at the moment, but once some oil dot filtering, pin wash and weathering are added it will quieten it off. Cheers Mark
