Evening / Morning All I didn't get a lot of modelling time today as I had a number of outerdoor chores to nail before the rain came in. The dio plan I have is for an urban area in the latter stage of the war - probably the defence of Germany in the Rhine area. So I gave some thought to an urban style camo, that wasn't tri-colour or the usual diagonal stripes. I'd purchased a number of stencils previously and one of them was a camo style, so I tried it out and i liked it. I also wanted to break up the end of the gun barrel so had a go at camo-ing it up. I was going to take it back to the gun shield, but I decided to stop it short. Still deciding whether to put camo onto the wheel bogies. Jury is still out as I don't want it to be too busy visually. Cheers Mark

All that PE sure does add a lot of detailing, especially on a kit like this, I admire your skill... and then you have to cover all that PE up with primer and paint.. is offcourse 'normal' but is something I sometimes thnk is a pitty..

Thank you for all of your amazing comments guys, they're very much appreciated. It's been a busy weekend so not really had a lot of time for modelling unfortunately. First up I decided that needed some more ammo crates for the diorama. So it was out with the styrene and time to get creative. I used a weatherbard profile from Evergreen and some strips. To create the woodgrain effect I used my fine tooth razor saw. Can't see it on the pic, but it will come into it's own once the paint and weathering are on. I started work on the chipping and mixed up a light Dunkelgau colour to create the first part of the process on all of the components. I then used the Mig chipping colour to start step 2 on the cruciform. Still a bit of work to go, but thought I'd post some pics of progress to date. The pics really aren't the best as it definitely looks better with the naked eye The wheel bogie, just has the first step applied. As there's not a lot of difference in the colour it's a bit hard to pick up with the camera in the phone. Cheers Mark

The subtle effects you've used are giving a lot of depth to the paint. It looks well worth the effort.

Extra crates is a great idea. A must, even.

Thanks for the comments gents, they're very much appreciated. This evening after work I managed to get about 45 minutes in the work room and I carried on with some more chipping effects. I did a bit more work on the cruciform legs and one of the wheel bogies. The rust effects on the cruciform is done with AK pencils (light and dark rust). Cheers All Mark
