Made the column today, and currently have the mould curing. Thought Id have a bit of experiment with reinforcing the plaster sections, a little bit of trial and error....however think Ive come up with a solution so the plaster parts will survive the trip with Postman Pat in his van... First sample , cast in white plaster, no reinforcement, dropped from shoulder height onto a concrete floor, smashed first time, must admit wasn't surprised Second sample with reinforcement, cast in same plaster but with a beige pigment, same height drop onto same concrete floor (In the photo its been dropped 6 times) and apart from a crack and some damage still holding firm... very happy. Id guess, production run parts did crack but still hold firm, it would only enhance the look of the damage building. Tomorrows test with a column will be interesting :-)

The reinforced one, with the crack and splintered off bits would be quite realistic for bombed building. Nice workings and testing Paul

I think those test-sets would be great as complete sets already, especially the one with the oil drums, I can just imagine that one painted up.. be great for modellers who are not into militairy stuf! And love the look of your reinforced piece of concrete/plaster!

Some more progress, yesterday made a column, and also a mould, did a bit of casting his morning, all pieces slotted together to get an idea of the building, couple gaps in the photos, but its free standing with all the parts loose. Tops of the columns, have small holes for rebar to be inserted, also the floor sections. Once I make a mould of the floor section, Ill assemble in full, including the individual blocks :-) Liked the oil drum idea, very much like Syrian Barrel house

Most interesting work. I would love to see some of these shrunk to my scale so complete buildings could be done. With a bit of tweaking, some of those structures you're doing could be used in a Stalingrad setting as well as a Middle Eastern one. Brilliant work.
The real pictures you have are quite a contrast: it is interesting seeing all these bombed out/burned out/dilapidated/crumbling old buildings next to all the brand new cars!

First of the production run, glued together, and some rubble/rebar added. Plan on doing one with blockwork later
