It's been a while since I posted anything. The modelling has been a bit quiet, with work, TV shows and fishing at the fore lately. I did build a wee Toon Tiger 1 in an evening, and I have to say these little Meng kits are quite delicious. Having seen the excellent build of this kit in desert dress, I've gone grey. I realise not many grey tigers existed, but I've never worried too much about accuracy, preferring to just enjoy the build. This little fella has had two coats of Ammo undercoat - I think the stuff is designed for an AB, and struggled with coverage from a hairy stick, and just one pass.

These are fun kits to build, Dale, and yours looks great. We did a Toon Group Build awhile ago and it was really fun.

Ordererd some Geman Grey for the Tiger last week (Vallejo 995) and what arrived was flat flesh (955), so more delay. On the plus side ther flesh will be useful, ad the seller said keep it for free. Anyway the Tiger finally has a dark grey coat now. So, anyone have experience weathering German dark grey? I'll try a pure black pin wash to bring out detail, and I can see dry brushing getting a look in too. I intend to use it as a learning experience, and try some dot filter and wash effects, but top tips appreciated. Photos to follow...

Morning Dale, if you want some pointers on Panzer grey then Nightshift on YouTube is well worth a watch. There are a few videos for this particular build and he covers everything from start to finish……

A little more progress. Not sure about the blackening of the barrel. Thoughts anyone?

Hey Dale, I'd say no worries, it's a toon Tiger, nothing wrong with a little overdoing of soot. Btw the Germans used smokeless gunpowder, still no worries, it looks kinda cool.
