Good evening all, Here is another Post-MilMod build. In 1976, Denmark acquired 120 Leopard 1A3 tanks, which were designated Leopard 1 DK and their delivery was completed in 1978. In 1992, Denmark acquired another 110 1A3 tanks, partly through Conventional Forces Europe (CFE)treaty AFV reduction requirements and these tanks were upgraded to Leopard 1A5-DK standard, along with the first 120 Leopards. Being fitted with the welded turret of the Leopard 1A3, the Danish Leopard 1A5-DK tanks were not identical to the German Leopard 1A5, which were fitted with the cast turrets. Denmark had 230 Leopard 1A5-DKs in service from 1993, until their retirement and complete replacement by the Leopard 2A5-DK tanks in 2005. I’ve been lucky enough to work with various nationalities over the years and one colleague was a Lt Col. Danish tanker who had previously been a tank platoon commander. After seeing some of my work he asked if I could do a model of his tank during that period of his career. He gave me a few reference pictures to go on to show his exact vehicle and a third taken during a road move. His 2ic is the one doing the semaphore. To do the job I acquired an Italeri 1A4 and a Legend Productions Danish 1A5Dk conversion. I didn’t take many pictures of the kit construction at the time and really only focused on the conversion. Here we go then…

Very cool conversion looks damn cool! Paul you can build a Belgian version from the Revell kit, 03240 as I did which will give you a 1BE. Legend also do a conversion which would give you a 1A5BE, the last version used by the Belgian army.

THANK YOU to all of you who have commented. I thoroughly recommend the conversion set if you can get your hands on it.
