bwilt, the flashing light is used during exercises. It goes off to indicate when the tank is hit.

Duke, Bert, the so-called winky wonky is active when the vehicle is moving civilian roads. It is to make sure that they can be seen and have any civvy vehicles running into them . Didn't always work though, you'd be amazed how many civvy drivers still ram tanks with their Mercedes Benz cars, I know

Didn't always work though, you'd be amazed how many civvy drivers still ram tanks with their Mercedes Benz cars, I know So Paul, how badly did you tear up your Merc when you hit the tank?
