Yes, Bert, those tracks were a nightmare. So much so, I got a set of DS tracks from a Dragon Sherman to use on my M-50 project.

Thanks! And I do have another Sherman kit waiting... a Dragon M51, with "normal, decent" tracks.. but also a set just like this in that box.. so could borrow those tracks.. but that would be just postponing the problem...

Bert is that the kit DS tracks? If yes, you'll have to do some surgery to them. The kit comes with 3 lengths of track, the 3rd one needs chopping up and adding to the other lengths, as they are too short

So what I thought would be an easy next kit isn't... thanks for the warning!

It isn't too tricky Bert. You need a sharp knife to cut the track, at the inside of the end connectors. Being DS tracks, they do glue together quite well, I was surprised by that The time consuming part is gluing the guide on horns on, but you know about that already

Definitely have to watch the track length if doing an M-50.Some M-50s were long hull M4A4s and others were short hull M4A3s. The Dragon boxing is a long hull M4A4, if memory serves.

Mighty impressive as usual from your desk brotha.
Taking DS tracks, my Panthers' DS tracks went from soft and normal over brittle to disingegrating. And they weren't even painted. I pulverized them in my hand, luckily I have a set of good ol' Friuls to put on it.

Thanks very much again guys.. @ Tommy: it's an AK jig, 35 euro at my local hobby shop track making jig@paul; Ssssssssttt..... don't tell anyone.. @guy: I have been looking at those metal sets, and other replacment sets, but they cost allmonst as much as the whole kit costed me.. and you know I am Dutch.. but also noticed you need to know exactly what kind of tank, which type, otherwise the tracks might not fit properly, so I will stick to what ever comes with a kit...
