Noticed nearly everyone has started posting, as if you were all waiting.... Starting as well, and like most of you, I thought I'ld show the content of the box. Unfortunatley my table isn't big enough... so I had to lay it down on the ground... A ridiculous amount of plastic, especially if you look at the manual: Everything BLUE is NOT supposed to be used... that's like half the content....

And, as I got another one as a Christmas present, I have 3 of those boxes, I will have to find a place for all those spare parts...

Thanks for the encouragement... anyone any idea why they call these "smart kits"? Is that just because of all those extra bits you get?

Excellent choice, Bert, and looking forward to it. Definitely a Dragon kit with so many extra parts. Usually the Smart Kits had extra parts, newly molded parts, and DS or Magic Tracks which were cast from different materials.

Aha, so it refers to the added stowage in the kit, thats from that rubbery stuff like the old style tracks... thanks for explaining!

Thanks everyone, must say I am a little dissapointed in this kit's quality, it's not any better than those old Italeri/Bilek kits, every piece has molding lines... a whole lot more parts indeed but an axle made out of 4 parts instead of 1... doesn't really adds much for me, especially because if I build according to step 1B of the manual, the fuse balls will be the wrong way around, the holes in them should face backwards, if I follow the manual they face forward and the next bit doesn't fit...

Should anyone else consider buying this kit..... I am only on step 2 and allready have encountered 3 mistakes: A3 and A4 have to switch place, otherwise A2 doesnt fit Two parts are numbered D5, but on the sprue D5 and D4: D34 has to be turned 180 degrees, otherwhise these 3 parts don’t fit into each other: So I wonder what Mr B considers a 'really good build' ...

Bert---I totally feel your pain. Here's the directions (or abortion) for my SDKFZ 251. I am sorting out three different versions from this mess. Looks like a molecular diagram of some element on the periodic table.

Well that’s Dragon for you. They aren’t instructions but instead some possible guidelines.
