The first layer of snow has gone down. Just the sort of effect I was after. More to come but looks good already.

Looks very very good, which of those products did you use to get this effect? Just a pitty of all that nice work on your cobble stones and rubble..

Bwilt, first I put down Tamiya texture paint snow effect until I ran out and finished it off with powder snow effect. Then I used the noch snow, but not happy with the result. The balls are too big. so now I have scraped off the noch and applied AK micro balloons, which are expensive but well worth it. Looks a lot more natural now. As for the cobbles, I was thinking of having the snow shoveled away, but then changed my mind. Anyway…..

Used a mixture of oils, mainly white and washes, mainly MiG ammo streaking rust and grime for winter vehicles.
Not so sure on the effect. Honest opinions please my learned friends.

Well, I really like it, love the coloring on it, but I love heavy weathered en worn models. I think in this case it depends what you want to show, but an old airfield gun in the snow.. don't think it is wrong at all! Maybe footprints or the snow really trampeled on in that area just around the gun, where they are standing? That way you could show some of your nice cobbles again as well. PS might want to take the covers off his binoculairs as well

I like the wear on the flak, especially effective is the fact that the carriage looks fresher with white wash than the gun shield etc. Remembering that white wash was just that, a wash of paint pigment thinned with whatever came to hand I would say the effect is very realistic.
As Bert says as well some footprints in the snow around the gun would be great as well.
