That's some lovely bird you are building yourself there Mister B. And one you don't see being built all too often. Lovely paint and decal work mate, yum yum

Murky buckets Wouts . And yes it is one of the rarer birds to be built, but that made it all the more interesting

Getting close to the end now, the main wear and tear on the topside is almost done. Need to work the exhaust stains more, but that is about it. The underside still needs attention, tomorrow will its turn The exhausts have painted up . These are not the kit items, didn't like the look of those, and as I happened to have a set of Eduard Brassin (wait for it)..... Hawker Hurricane exhausts , I decided to use them.

Chaps thank you all kindly . I just had a marathon run on the old girl, in the last 2 hours I have completed the build . First I did the chipping on the underside. Then I added some oil stains, which really didn't show on the black paint , so to get some interest on the underside, I added some dirt coloured pigments. After all the Wittering air base only had grass take-off and landing fields . I also enhanced the exhaust stains some more, I used a reference pic of a Hurricane from the BBMF to get idea for that. I also went over the control surfaces with some light grey pigments, just enhance these also . Here's the Boulton Paul Defiant, as she was back then stationed at RAF Wittering, in 1941. As always ACACW, thank you for watching

Superb! A single colour model is sometimes very difficult to paint and weather, especially black. But all the different tones and methods used have really given such a difficult colour so much depth and interest. Damn fine old fruit!

Very nice, and indeed, so many shades and chips that it doesn't look just black, and your grass is really well done too!
