This will be in two parts. When I joined the RA there were a couple of guys in 88 battery who served in the Falklands. 29 Corunna Battery, which was the main battery from the RA (or Para battery as it was then) to fight in the Falklands, was also part of 4 Field Regt. RA. Be that aside, two enduring images from the Falklands conflict; a Royal Marine signaler with a Union Jack flying from his antenna, and of course the poor Argentina captives standing freezing behind barbed wire. So here we are, the victors and the “poor sods”. May add some sheep. We’ll see!

Thanks Ian. This is what is in the first box. I was expecting an SLR. It’s an M16. Were the RM issued with such weapons? Anyone any ideas about an SLR?

I remember first time I fired one of these thunder sticks. 5 8 Kings TA in Manchester.
10 meter range. Basically, here is the gun, fire at that target.
I was scared stiff. Pulled the trigger, the thing kicked back and gave me a black eye.
For the rest of the mag I held it as far away as possible. Did I hit the target? I doubt it!!!!!

I don't like brass slings as I seem to knock them off every time 😆

Tamiya tape is better and certainly friendlier throughout the build
