Been working on depth of colour by gradually adding a lighter tone. I think the Argentinian is nearly done. The RM lacks definition.

Thanks snipersmudge and Ian. A painting day today, used very watered down Vallejo colours to build up the colours while still having the highlights showing underneath. Looked at pictures of British DPM for the RM from the period. Anyone done it before?

A pair of nice figures Tommy. I can't believe it's 40 years since the Falklands! There is a statue along Southsea sea front of a Royal Marine at what was part of the Royal Marines Barracks.

This one,you mean? The original gates that were used in Cockleshell Heroes, are still there a bit further East of this statue, but most of Eastney is now really expensive apartments!!! You can just see some of them in the background!

Cockleshell Heroes. The most I remember from that was a Spike Milligan comedy show. One of the main actors kept telling everyone he was in Cockleshell Heroes. Anyone else remember? Worked on my DPM today. Used yellow, green and brown from True color British uniform WW2 and Vallejo black. Seeing this picture there is a bit more to do, but basically it is a washed out camo pattern.

Another problem with this figure, I do think back in the 80’s British soldiers had the rank insignia holder on the front of the smock.
I think that was introduced much later…Unless you know better?

That's the one. He's called,The Yomper.
My Nan used to work in the chip shop outside the original gate. I think it's called The Royal Gate.
