Hi Boots! After having started my GT40 I ran into some issues with paint colours: - what was your choise for the dark blue?
- wheels colour, instruction claim aluminium but based on the photos, that is wrong (you seem to have some kind of greyish blue)
- what red colour did you use for the bonnet?
Thanks in advance!

Hi karih... For the dark blue i went with Tamiya`s X-4.......a bit hit and miss with the exact internal colour so i went with what i thought was the most suitable You are correct with the wheel colour..........the Shelby museum car are a kind of Grey colour so i went with it and not the alloy ones after all that is the original car, i found it looks more aggressive as well ............i think wheel colour possibly changed on occasions but as far as i`m 99% certain this is correct. As for the Red....i believe it was just plain and simple Tamiya Red X7 (thin layers), it`s a tricky curve to negotiate as the decs just do not conform to those curves.....they are just too rigid. That`s why i went for the mask/template option but that still took a bit of work.......however....i think the end result was good enough, this was then given a couple of coats of VMS Gloss......it`s not fantastic as it`s the first time i`ve tried the VMS stuff but i`ll go with being happy on 99% of it Hope this helps a bit karih
