The brightwork has now had various very thin washes of raw umber or diluted black here and there, as i mentioned before this is not a restro so just a race used effect as it shows on the real deal is what i`m aiming for....
The rear bulkhead/firewall has had the neccessary bits added including the rear slim glazed panel, this was then followed with a light steel dry brush over the various brightwork just to add some hightlight/definition etc, the lower part of the engine has had some work done as has the rear suspension and all the rear framework.....just a gentle tone down from being shiney and new really
A small amount of dry brushing with some steel on the inner door areas just to give it some in/out wear and tear etc
The dash is WIP but not featured yet.......although the tiny dash decs are all done and what a PITA they were!!!!
I`ve also finished and dry fitted the upper cylinder heads and rocker covers.......the exhausts are WIP at the mo and i need to add the main manifolds, so far all is a good fit but i have had to fettle a couple of parts here and there.
Near enough done on the chassis now and then onto the body work, i`ve ordered the original 1965 Arcadian Blue which is the correct colour for cars of this era.......only one who does it is Mission Models........and i ain`t ever used them before
Awesome work, Mr. Boots! Great attention to detail.

Sorry folks....been somewhat pre-occupied this past couple of weeks with another project.....a bike..........in 1:1 scale!!
My Suzuki GSF has been standing for a while now due to running issues,i`ve done a complete new jet/gasket set on all the four carbs and re-newed the inlet gaskets plus a multitued of othe stuff.........it`s all back together now complete with new battery, i`m just waiting on some new plugs and maybe an oil change..........then i will be selling her.
Inbetween i have been doing some small bits on the GT40 but mostly in the garage till late doing bits on the bike.....
I had major issues with a rock from corner to corner which very nearly resulted in me shelving this......i couldn`t find any parts of the suspension out of place at all so i assumed a warped chassis!!......however.....after much head scratching i located the issue which was down to the driveshaft fitting to the engine.........it wasn`t the best fit to start with and it was causing one wheel to sit at a slight angle causing the rock, it had pushed part of the linkage away so i decided to cut the shaft away as you can`t see it anyhoo.......it now sits perfect
Most of the work i have done apart from that is just on the exhaust and the wheels....although i`m not quite finished on those yet.
I`ve then given the exhausts a brassy look with some diluted Vallejo Brass......may well give this another dark wash yet.
Cheers all........will catch up with all the other up-dates on the site later
