Tricky question Jeff. I have seen pictures of Iraqi vehicles with a distinctive yellow hue to them, and also I have seen pics which could be lightened buff . I made a mix leaning towards the buff colour on my Enigma, I used some dark yellow XF60, deck tan XF55 and buff XF57 . The buff was the larger part of the mix to give that Portland stone sort of look .

Thanks, Mike. I've got to build more Tamiya kits in the future. They just fall together. I may be talking paint but there's a bunch more to do. Almost all the time I get the suspension, Tracks and lower Hull assembled and blocked out before gluing the upper Hull on. Just works out better for me. I know that XF-55 looks yellow but it's a light tan color. Just didn't shake up the bottle.

Maybe I'll try adding some of my German Yellow mix to the buff and see where that takes me. As promised Some upper Hull fiddly bits, braces and such. The kit supplies some plastic mesh for the grille openings that has to be cut to size. They give you a template and location, circled in green. After it is cut, very fiddly, it needs to sandwiched between part F21 and the hull. That gives you this. Not too bad really but I think the others I do instead of placing the mesh on top of the Template, I'll cut it out and put it on top of the mesh. TTFN AAACW

You be doing mighty fine fella . Also the colour you've decided on sounds good to me Sir . Here's the real thing at Bovington Tank Museum 1999. If I remember rightly I built mine in 8 hours .

'Smudge, I got to build more Tammy kits. Thanks for the comments and pictures, Lads. Should be able to figure something out. It's going to be a challenge painting that mesh and not filling in all the holes. So it looks like I've got two choices. Either XF-57 Buff or XF-55 Deck Tan with some shade of yellow added. Paul, ran across this picture of the same tank outside and it looks a lot darker, like Boots picture yeah? Dicky, I don't think I have either.

Nice progress Jeffers There was an Enigma outside Preston barracks for a while, I’d go for a deck tan as you say

Jeff certainly is inspiring & with those pics of Bovington's beauty added in I think that's what I will build when I do my Enigma in the future.

Jeff it certainly looks darker, maybe the flash of my camera made it look lighter . But the lights in that hall are making the barrel certainly look light

It just amazes me how different lighting can change a color/colour. Good news on my MiniArt tracks. Got an email from the vendor that they have been put in the post to me. Should have them Wednesday or Thursday. Paul, don't worry, I'll be trying the Trumpy tracks on another T55 build. They'd work on a Tiran 5 wouldn't they?

You could always start with the deck tan being a darker shade this will give you some depth then add some buff to the mix and lightly spray into the centre of panels etc. As for the mesh grills if you thin the paint right it shouldn't be a problem mate.
