Thanks so much, gents! Getting close to some clear coat for decals. Are they the new style decals Ian? If they are, then the carrier film is on top of them, which after a good drying time, can be removed from the decal. Something similar to the dry rub decals, but you still use water to get them off the backing paper.

Wow, that's looking cool. Love the touch of the more faded control surfaces, need to keep that in mind!

Thanks, guys!
Wouts----from what I read, the fading on the control surfaces was pretty substantial as the cloth really bleached in that Pacific heat, at least on the early Caramel/ Lt. Green-Grey ones. I would assume the later Dk. Green over Lt. Grey A6Ms would be the same.
Paul---funny you should mention that about these Eduard decals. From what I have read I am a little concerned about this and I really don't have a lot of faith in trying to pull the carrier film off the decals with tape, as indicated in the video below. I have some spares on the sheet I will play around with on some scrap but I don't trust the physics of putting tape over a decal and than just lifting the film off. Granted, the guy in the video here does it but I have found a few horror stories where the whole decal came off. Tempting fate in this hobby usually does not end well.

Watched a programme on these last night.......bloody excellent.
These were dam good fighters and was rated as one of the best ever fighters in the war due to it`s virtually tin foil covering, all the framework was drilled out to reduce weight and had a tidy bit of fire power as well..........also the flying range on this thing was superb.

Oh I'm really loving this. Nice work Ian and very inspirational. Keeps the juices flowing. Hadn't it been for the hot temperatures right now I had sprayed mine as well. Initially I didn't want to buy extra paints to get decent covers but your thread and the links you provided me with made me buy some extra tammi bottles . Keep up the cool work mate!
