Superb selection Paul. How that thing got in the air with the underwing stores it did just amazes me.

It looks a bit like a Marchetti or a Fouga Magister with those wing tip fuel tanks.

It's a pretty amazing aircraft. Roughly 160,000 sorties in Vietnam and remained in service as a Fast FAC thought the '80s.

That's interesting Robbo. I used to see these on my TV almost every night during the late sixties. I even started one in 1/72 scale way back in my misspent youth, but the cockpit assembly sat too high so the canopy wouldn't fit. Don't know whatever happened to that....
This is gonna be fun to watch Paul! Bring it!

Must say, this was a very unknown airplane to me, and after reading a bit about it I am surprised it was used so sucesfully.. when I think of Vietnam I think of F4 Phantoms, A4 Skyhawk, A6 Intruder and B52's, and offcourse Bell Huey and the Chinook, not a Cessna.. I mean... Cessna.. that is..

Most interesting, but not surprising. The Dragonfly was pretty much an unsung hero of the Vietnam War. So many grunts loved it because it could get lower, drop more precisely, and take a licking like Timex in the day and still make it home. Dragonflies were doing their due diligence while the rest of the more well known planes were bombing the north, fighting the NVAF, or making headlines in other ways.

Chaps I have finally gotten the in place and sealed the fuselage together . The cockpit is one the worst I have had to deal with, it's not the fit, it's the bloody colouring of it. The colour is Dark Gull Grey and it drove me mad. I painted the whole lot 3 times, and now it is staying as it is. I know it isn't official, but the cushioned side panels were treated to an oil discolouring with Abt. 502 Ghost Grey to at least get a little tonal variation in there. More soon dudes
