Boots, Ian, Tommy, Joe, thank you kindly chaps . Well the fun time is over. With that I mean that the seemingly nice kit has turned into a horror trip . Before I joined the fuselage parts together, I did a test fit of the wings. This was done without the jet nozzles. The main wing fitted perfectly, and I mean perfectly, no misalignment what so ever. However, when the jet engine parts go into place, nothing fits at all . The only way out of this was to do major surgery to the jet intakes, this meant reducing the outer diameter drastically. I had to remove about 1.5mm from a 2mm wall thickness and that, with them glued to the wing. But that wasn't enough, I also had to remove some of the lower cockpit tub and the bottom wing root. Anyhow, the main wing is now in place, but it looks ugly from underneath. I shall try and clean this up as good as I can. But if it doesn't work out, then this bird will meet brick of doom.

Sorry to hear that, Paul. Trumpeter kits are fickle and you never know what you are going to get. Having said that, she looks great after you got her together. Hopefully you can continue on.

I'm having the same issue with the JF-17 Paul. So here's the plan, fill and file the outside to look good then put a FOD cover over the intake. It hides the mess inside and adds a bit of colour

Update chaps, and not negative . Tail fins are in place, the PE parts for those upper stabilizers were swapped for 0.3mm plastic sheet, the sheet looks better that why . The canopy has been masked and sprayed with that awful Dark Gull Grey, inside and out . I hope to get these parts added tomorrow when full dried.
