Guy, stellar work on this and the metal finish is incredibly realistic. Awesome, as always. Regarding the recon variant, it was the RF-84 Thinderflash and it was based off the Thunderstreak swept-wing airframe. However, the front intake was removed and it was given side intakes. The camera gear was then moved to the nose. I think Revell of Germany or Monogram made this variant years ago.

As for the metal finish, it was simple as 1+1=2 with the Vallejo metals, protected by a couple of coats of Tamiya Gloss Clear and washing and pinwashing with oils. I like mixing the Dark aluminium, Silver, Steel and Light aluminium to get more and subtle shades.

Ian, I forgot to mention that I softly rubbed a bright metal pigment with a fingertip but not much and not all over it, just enough to generate a little shine.
