Forgive me if you've answered this before but what primer is it you use?

Steve at the moment I'm using Mr finishing surfacer 1500 black which is awesome! 

More on the model now and all the detail painting for now is done and I've added some paint chipping as well. Looks quite stark but this will all tone down later on. Gloss coat next I think.

Cheers chaps, gloss coat & decals are now on. The decals came from various sources including the kit. Really like the fire extinguishers with the decals on they look the biz! 

Very detailed stickerage Pete, the colours of the accessories really pop on the camo too.

Bloody marvelous paint job and indeed, the decals of the fire extinguishers look superb.

Thanks gents, now turned my attention to crew figures and again sadly there is really not much choice. For late 90's early 2000's you are pretty much forced to either sculpt your own or adapt stock figures. Yes accurate armour do make some sets BUT In my humble opinion they are showing their age and the sculpting is not that great. How I wish someone would finally release some decent Brit figures especially with the amount of modern Brit armour that's coming out at the moment. 

Ok moan over, I decided to use the Valkyrie British army tank crew 1970-80 era set. This comes with the figures in parkas, dan dare helmets and also berets. The heads will be replaced with hornet modern ones. A bit of surgery and they look pretty reasonable in the turret. I'll also add the driver figure too. painting will be in good old DPM which is my favourite camo to paint. 

The figures really add a sense of size and scale to the build.
