Does anybody have any insight about the actual Shermans used in the movie? What version? What nation's inventory they came from? Just curious; I like trivia like that.

Boots, Steve, cheers chaps . Ian, I read once that the film was made in Yugoslavia. I therefore believe that the vehicles used, are all from the Yugslav stock. These are the M4A3-E6 version. According to Wikipedia, this conversion was a field mod. during WWII, to the M4A3 75mm Shermans. The modification was the M1 76mm gun in place of the 75mm factory fitted weapon. The modification was pursued after WWII by some users of the the M4A3 Sherman.

Ian, Pete, cheers chaps . I have drilled and filled the tool location points on the hull (looks a bit like a hedgehog now ), the Tamiya tools will be replaced with items from Formation Model, also I have started work on the turret .

Who knocked those bottles so agressively into the Sherman's deck? No serious, good thinking Paul, and looking forward to see how you will tool it up.

Thankee kindly fellas . Tommy, Ian has is absolutely right . Okay, today I got the filled holes sanded back, then I added brass handles to the rear deck and the missing sand shield attachments along the lower, upper hull. I also added the springs to the loaders hatch and, am now trying to work out how the loudspeaker is attached to the turret side . I watched the film again and also certain clips on youtube, to try and catch a glimpse of the mount for it, but without any luck. I shall just knock up a feasible mount and be done with it .

Nice work mate, I'd guess they just welded a bracket to the turret?
