Thanks chaps! They'll never be of Alpine sculpt quality but still good enough to finish them without getting frustrated.

Now those replies make me one happy modeller! The navy fellas with their Levy's blue clothing will add a colourful splash, they get a Dullcote coat before embarking, the helmet a satin slap.

That is really fantastic!! Is it just coincidence or do the helmets have a bit of gloss to look like they are wet from water splashes? And as such, should you add some of those glossy/wet spots on the side decks of the LCVP as well, to show water splashes on that?
Edit: maybe you allready did that but I just cannot see it properly on a laptop screen..

I never realized how cramped and claustrophobic these tubs were.

One problem, I've never seen a wet clothing effect on a figure. But...I'll certainly experiment on that effect later. In case you want to see an example...
Great tutorial on how he did this..

I'll keep the rest of the water effects for the finish, some experimenting is necessary. Thanks for your supportive comment Bert.

I'm slowly getting there I think.
The figures in blue will be toned down just a tiny bit, one of a couple more jobs to do before I can call this done.
