It's three years already when this project began to collect dust. After my Stug disaster I'll try to be satisfied with the results and to not keep on trying to make it look better once it looks good. The LCVP was given a soapy wash to get rid of the dust. A wash for grey vehicles was applied by brush and sponged to my likings. Pure white oil paint was brushed on to create more depth. I kept the white transparent and extremely thin. Rust effects were added and I started with a rust wash application, followed by a rusty pinwash. Rust streaks were next and I'm still working on more effects inside. The LCVP WAS 90% made of wood. I'll keep the interior colour a tad darker. Before I move on with the converti on of the many figures, I'll try to create a sea diorama. I hope I won't get too excited coz we all know it can kill a model.

This is a very nice one! And to think you are restarting it after 3 years.. man... And looking at yours I like it so much I started doing some research.. not into WW2 myself but found some nice pictures of this in IDF service unloading a couple of M113's ... and found a kit for 46 euro, add 7 euro for posting from Tsjechië to Holland. I sould stop reading these kind of topics, they cost me money.. EDIT: Now I notice I should have bought a LCM... well, looks like i have both now.

Pete, Ian, Boots, Steve, Paul, Bert, thank you guys. I want to build one figure per evening and I try to work on the Lcvp in daylight. Talking about the first figure...it needs a lot of filling and carving and sanding. OK it sucks but I'll try to make it suck a little less.

I made a start with the figures. They are ok but nothing more than that. The LCVP commander was sculpted a better life jacket. Next are 20+ infantry men. Once put in the landing craft these will look good despite the soft detail.

20+. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus!!!!!!!
But be careful won’t you. This may not be a physically demanding hobby but it takes dexterity.
I don’t want to sound like your wife, but with your injuries.....don’t over do it.
