Paint looks fine to me....plenty of weathering and grunge and she'll be just peachy methinks Put 'er aside for a while and next time yer have dirty thoughts....go to it! Love yer hot rod BTW

I've got some of Tamiya's Acrylic Retarder. Haven't tried it yet. I've got high hopes for it. And yes, I remember that one.

A few drops of vallejo airbrush retarder is what I use, it's called airbrush flow improver no, art.71.362 works a treat when its particularly hot in the cave. I add a few drops to every mix as a matter of course now. Also using mr color levelling thinners helps a lot I find.

Good stuff, re the retarder i've not had any issues using it with tamiya & gunze colours. I think all retarders for acrylics are pretty much the same. i used to use winsor & newton stuff before that got very expensive.
