A pink Spit. Now that's something we don't usually see. Nice subject and also good work so far!

Thanks for stopping by fellas much appreciated Sorry for the following long pic heavy and rambling post! The kit has a lot of flash and rough edges that need a lot of work to fix, there's a Spitfire in there somewhere though You can buy a lot of Aftermarket parts for this and you can spend a fortune so my plan is to build and improve what I can before ordering only what I have to. Exhaust ports are moulded in two halves but the halves don't match up so need a lot of fettling. It cleaned them up, glued them and left overnight to harden then drilled out the ends as much as I could. Happy enough with them now and that's £7 saved. Before and after shots Also started the underwing radiator housings. These have very thick edges so shaved a lot away. Before and after but still more to do. Also started detailing the cockpit, the kit has some good stuff but I'll add some more tubes and wires such as the missing oxygen hose already done. I won't need and AM resin as I'm closing the canopy. Here's where we are.
More when I can B)

Steve, fine work on this. Wrapping my brain around the fact they did the exhausts as two pieces. Great job with drilling them out, too!

Boots. Paul. Thanks fellas. It's a combination of keeping the costs down and seeing what can be improved B)
Ian, Revell's 2 part idea is okay as it saves a slide mould but it's poorly done. Im hoping that the cleaned up parts will look good enough once painted.

You're doing a great job Steve, this build is progressing in the right direction. Little adjustments such as drilling parts out can make a "hole" difference.😖

Moving swiftly along from Guy's Dad jokes... Still working on saving a bit of cash... the kit undercarriage is oddly moulded in two parts that leave it weak. Eduard do a beautiful set in bronze for £13 and SAC do a white metal set for £15, both are over 50% of what I paid for the kit so thought I'd see if I could strengthen the plastic. Drilled them out with a pin vice and CA fixed a brass rod though the middle. Tail wheel strut in the kit is very weak and flexible, I've read a lot of build blogs where this is knocked off every time. My fix is a steel pin inserted into a grove cut with my Tamiya panel line tool. This is massively stronger. Then some CA and filler to round it back to the streamline shape. This'll look 100% better when painted. I've left the pin long as I might run this into the tail wheel for yet more strength. It won't be seen due to the tight fit of the wheel. I'll tidy it all up tomorrow when it's set hard. If it's all okay that £15 towards the next kit! More soon

Smart moves Steve, I'll try this too as I'm a professional at knocking off fragile parts.
