Cheers chaps This is turning into a project see how my fettling works out! Cockpit with some brass and lead wire, not 100% accurate but good enough for a closed canopy. Sanded off the kit IP details ready for the 3D decals that are on their way.

Nice one Steve, it's these details which give a kit always that tad extra. Love the wiring.

First fit of the cockpit into the fuselage, not too bad luckily. IP is a Kits World 3D print, detail is okay but not as good as some of the new Eduard 3D resin IPs out there. It was very shiny so I gave it a light coat of Tamiya flat varnish. The seat belts are the same, Kits World supply these with no instructions whatsoever, nothing of use on their website either. You get what you pay for I suppose but they'll be okay under a wash and a closed canopy. To be honest I'm not a fan of this technology, it's either under detailed or overpriced IMHO. Anyway, here's a couple of pics.

I must say, I have to agree with the other chaps. It looks darned good to me . A question about the seat, I have . Is the red colour specific to the Mk.IX, or is it so on all marks?

There's one to get the armchair experts all fired up Paul. The seat is painted to represent the plastic seat used at the same time as the metal one to diversify the production line etc. Some called it Bakerlite but I've read recently that it was plastic and not resin. There were differences but under the canopy it won't matter and I like the colour contrast.
