Looks great, so keep on pushing!

Oi oi, missed this one
I've got three ships in the stash, only little ones, one of them is a 1/600 cruiser about the length of your thumb

Thanks guys. I am trying here... To remain calm.... 🤣🤣🤣 So more little things are finding their way on bigger parts. 😛 These builds take time. First i made the stern compass platform. In the pic you can see the kit's part versus the pe. That answers i think if all these pe work is worth the effort. Changed the cabins on the bigger boats. They are indeed upgraded! Next job done are the big guns from Master. They differ a lot from those that were provided in the kit. They were fixed in place using patafix. The same material was used to replicate the covers. I am not sure about using the smaller ones though. I don't think they are worth the effort. The ones provided in the kit are good enough i think. What do you think guys? Some other thinks like ladders, rangefinders, bits and bobs, (and yes these are legit nautical terms! 😝) were built. Slowly, but not so slowly progressing. 😎

Holy moly, that is some awesome PE work.
The smaller ones look good enough to me.

That is some minuscule work there John As for the small caliber barrels, well you have them so maybe use them

John, excellent work on this! The metal barrels and the covers look amazing on the main batteries.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Well more very little parts found their way on to small parts. Turrets look like small kits on their own, boat rudders, masts, shields for the smaller cannons. I also revisited the funnels and corrected a few things, plus the struts for the anti torpedo nets and propellers and such.... Lots of work on various parts that don't really look like much now but are a big part of the puzzle. Now i do have complaints about this kit. Poor plastic quality, too soft.... On parts like the masts that is a serious one. Rigging is going to be very difficult. Positioning several of the items is an issue as you only have very soft marks and as soon you add glue no matter how small quantities they disappear. The worst is in the instructions. I find it that if you follow the instructions it is recipe for destruction. You are called to place tiny pe parts after you instal very delicate parts around them..... I didn't follow them. If you look at the pics below you will see just a small example.
That's all for now. Hopefully an update tomorrow.

Ladies and Gents i am pleased to announce we have primer. The operation was a success. No small bits went flying around. 😎 In the next days i will start masking and painting the hull and the other various parts so i can get the deck glued on. Then i can start building again..... Fingers crossed that the small bits will survive all that.

Totally inspiring work fella! Do you use any sort of magnifying lens? Steve no lens. I cannot work like that. I still can see thank god very well. 😛 The problem is not so much in seeing, as to being able to handle the small parts. Proper tools are a serious investment if you plan on such a build!

Well, as we show the good things, we show the bad ones too. I painted the hull and it was a disaster. The lesson learned here, (again), was not to start these kind of jobs unless you are calm. I wasn't. Extremely shite day. Anyway. I like the colour mix i made, but paint was not thinned properly, ran down the kit, although the kit was masked, the paint went to other areas. Cleaned most of it. The good thing is that those places will be painted black. It is what it is. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
