Looking good there although I must say I’m not a fan of pre-shading as I prefer to work from the base colour up. It possibly doesn’t help that I use Tamiya 50/50 and that’s pretty opaque.

Tommy, Bert, Paul,Pete, Jase, Steve, thank you guys kindly! Jase, you do what works best for you. I like to work the way you do too. The camo is on, as is the gloss clear for the decal action.

Very nice!
And I am wondering, would using gloss paint instead of matt paint with gloss varnish work just as well for decals?

Very nice! And I am wondering, would using gloss paint instead of matt paint with gloss varnish work just as well for decals? Normally that shouldn 't be a problem Bert, just mix enough gloss in the paint you're preparing. Gloss paint or a gloss clear coat are ideal to ensure the best result. The decal will stretch nicely over a shiny smooth surface. Once the decal is dry it's best protected by another gloss clear coat. Now it's ready for weathering. The gloss caracter can be pushed back using satin or mat varnish later on. Hope this helps chap. This decal was sealed with gloss Clear btw, later on I can add a satin look to it.

Paul the decals are a pita. They won't slide off without breaking and losing chips. I'm having a lot of work with them to be honest. While sliding them in place they keep disintegrating. Cold water, warm water, with or without the Set/Sol, nothing seems to counter this. I can only paint the broken off chips to complete them. I 'm using Revell Aqua paints for the job and if you don' t know of the issue you barely notice (I hope). With the upper side done I'll first protect them breakable feckers by laying a gloss clear coat on top of them.

Looks superb, Guy! Once again, Tamiya saves the day. Thank you kindly Ian. The biggest decals were added, as said with setbacks. Now they look ok, I've spent a lot of time on them breaking, shattering stickers.
