Moving on got the primer done and applied the yellow bands, then the main colour. Black stripes then applied and..... disaster. Did not like them one little bit. Lots of headscratching and fell back on plan B. Still had the decals so let's apply these. Wings not to bad and can live with. Fuselage was another story. Fell apart and had to remove. What to do now? My painted bands were diabolical. Plan C to the forefront. All the "suez" projects to date are sprayed bar one. Quick delve in the box of decals not used and hey presto a pair, which whilst not perfect did the job. Slight variance in the yellow but I can live with that. Need some cleaning up, but when amongst all the others in the collection, will look okay. All comments etc welcome and more soon. Tim

Tim, excellent save with the stripes! This is a really a beautiful looking Dash Seven. However, you are well seasoned with stripes after building all these awesome Suez Conflict aircraft.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated and I try my best. May not look like it all the time, but trying my best.... Decided to get the rudder dec's on. One side great and settled nicely. The other side, one hell of a battle. Decal fell apart across the top section and torn to bu**ery around the accentuator. Spent a long time cutting bits from the spare, small roundels (not used for this version) to patch things up and still had to resort to painting some bits to match it in\tone it down. Couple of pics to show what I have now. Good side,
Bad side but fixed.... I hope,
When I had done decorating, or wallpaper hanging and was critical of my achievements my mother used to say " a blind man would be pleased if he could see that" so hopefully I have got away with it. ACW as ever. Tim

Tim, nice save (again!!!) with the fin flash. It is a very tricky decal to apply. Took some coaxing for my AU-1 build.

Rest of the decals on with minimal resistance, and her it is in all it's glory. Will be mixing up a gouache wash for this to pick out panel lines etc, more soon. Tim

Paul, Ian & Pete, thanks very much. As the title suggests, started the gouache wash for detail and panel lines. Still a long way to go, but liking progress so far. Was suprised to find that grey was apparently not available so bought some white and mixed my own with the black that was in stock.
Hope you like and more soon. Tim
