So good to see this one painted Mr. B. And glad to see the Tropen camouflage on a Tiger! You don't see that all too often ^^.
Btw, this camouflage was not field applied like later camouflages seen on the battlefields of Europe and Russia, but in the factory. Fun fact - If my brains are correct - there were some Tiggies which got the Tp camouflage applied in the factory but were sent to Russia in stead of Africa. Can't remember in which units they ended up though.
Looking forward to the desert weathering, chap!

Cheers muchly chaps . Wouts, even if these were factory applied, I still reckon the Tropen colours would have been as in what is to hand . So I can safely stick with this mix . There are quite a few pictures out there with this Tiger, after being used in target trials. I am damned sure that I can see subtle shades of camo on those pictures. I know that some of the Tigers in Afrika, were actually repainted at some point. Not this one, but others did receive an Olive Green repaint. It isn't known where this paint came from but probably from Italian supplies. That could be a reason to build another Afrikanische Tiger later Not much done in the last few days, just burnished the tracks, and picked out the tools and tow ropes. I want all the stowage and everything else painted, before I start with the weathering

I like your logic Paul, and the build more so because of it. Don't see many in this scheme either so all good there too!

Steve, Si, Tommy, Ian, appreciated muckers . The exhausts were stippled with Mr.Surfacer 500, then the Vallejo Game Effects 72.136 Dry Rust was applied over that. When that had dried, I sprayed some dirty mixes of Tamiya paints over them . Today I sprayed the turret stowage and added the track mounting cable . Even after after heat treatment, the damned wire was still very springy , but it is now in place and bloody well staying there too . More soon chaps

Yes, love what I'm seeing here. Painting the details and exhausts sure give it that extra bit of oomph. I particularly like the painted Feifel filter hoses btw, great effect.

Thank you all immensely chaps . If your support wasn't here, then this would have gone back to bed again . Once again, not much to report . Only that I have been getting the base colours on the dudes . Since 16:00 hours I have been spraying, masking, cleaning the AB, then repeat I can't remember how many times . Here's the colours of choice, Vallejo, Tamiya, Mig Ammo.
